ஸ்ரீமுஷ்ணம் Sri Mushnam

Yesterday I was on a pilgrimage visit to Sri Mushnam in South Arcot district of Tamilnadu, India. The presiding deity is Sri Bhoovaraha Swamy and Sri Ambujavalli Thayar. It is said that present life on earth is possible only because of this deity has safeguarded the Earth from the demon Hiranyaksha.
There is a Holy Pond behind the temple and there is a Banyan tree. We have to take a dip in the Holy Pond ( Pushkarini) and go around the Banyan tree three times. Below the tree there is a temple for Sri Lakshmi Narasimha swamy.It is said that the childless ladies get conceived by the power of this God.
The Varaha swamy is also give boon to real estate matters, marriage and career improvement. It is said that one should recite Sri Varaha Kavacha mantra by sitting beneath the Holy Pond and he will surely get back what he had lost earlier in life.
Those who get results come back to this swamy and offer Jaggery rice.
This temple town is accessible from Vriddhachalam or Jayamkondan or Kattu Mannargudi.
